Plain-language summary: The calculator runs entirely in your browser. We don't ask you to sign up, and we don't collect or store your financial inputs. To keep the site free we may show ads and use affiliate links, and those third-party partners may use cookies — you can read exactly how below.
01 The short version
Your privacy matters to us, and the simplest way to protect it is to collect as little as possible. CompoundInterestCalc.cc is a static, client-side tool: the math happens on your own device, and we have deliberately built it so that we don't need your personal or financial data to make it work.
02 What we collect
We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or any personal details to use the calculator. The information we may receive is limited to:
- Standard technical data that virtually every website's server receives automatically — such as your browser type, device type, approximate region, and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
- Information you choose to send us, for example if you email us a question. In that case we receive whatever you include in your message.
03 Your calculator inputs
The numbers you type into any of the calculators — amounts, contributions, rates, loan terms, property values, and so on — are processed entirely within your browser. They are not transmitted to us, stored on our servers, or shared with any third party. When you close or refresh the page, those values are gone unless your browser has remembered them locally for your own convenience.
05 Third-party services
To function and look the way it does, the site loads a few resources from third-party content-delivery networks:
- Web fonts (e.g. Google Fonts) for typography;
- A small interface library used to render the design-options panel.
When your browser requests these files, the provider may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, as is normal for any resource loaded over the internet. We do not control those providers' data practices; please refer to their respective privacy policies. If you prefer, these resources can be self-hosted in a deployment that removes the third-party requests entirely.
06 Analytics
If we use analytics to understand how the site is used, we favor privacy-respecting, aggregate measurement that does not build advertising profiles of individuals. Any analytics we employ is intended to tell us things like which pages are popular — not who you are. We do not sell your data or use it for cross-site advertising.
07 Advertising & affiliate links
To keep the calculator free, the site may display advertising and contain affiliate links. This involves some third-party data processing that you should be aware of:
- Ad networks (e.g. Google AdSense). We may use third-party advertising networks to serve ads. These providers and their partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits here and to other websites in order to show ads relevant to you and to measure ad performance.
- Google's use of cookies. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
- Affiliate links. Some outbound links may be affiliate links. If you click one and take an action (such as signing up or making a purchase), the partner may set a cookie and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The partner may collect data about that click in line with their own privacy policy.
We do not control how these third-party advertising and affiliate partners use the data they collect. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. Where required by law, advertising that uses tracking cookies will only run with an appropriate consent mechanism.
08 Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to object to certain processing. Because we collect so little and do not maintain user accounts, in most cases we simply do not hold personal data about you. The financial figures you enter into the calculators never reach us at all. If you have contacted us by email and would like that correspondence deleted, let us know and we will honor your request where we are able.
09 Children's privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10 Data security
We take reasonable measures to keep the site secure, including serving it over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because the calculators do not transmit your financial inputs, the most sensitive information you use the tools with never leaves your device in the first place.
11 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
